Okay, 2hrs and counting till Roger handsome Federer takes on Rafael Handsome Nadal in the Wimbledon men's final- now THAT's something to get you out of bed in the morning.
So we all knew one of the Williams sisters would take the Wimbledon ladies title- it makes it even easier when both of the sisters make it to the finals.
So it was the older, taller of the sisters that took the title yesterday at the "All-England Club"
( Wimbledon is getting stuffier every year- it bothers me, I'm more of a US Open -scream obscenities during matched kidna girl!)
Venus beat up lil' sis Serena 7-5, 6-4. It is just me or every time they play each other in a final, it always seems like they've flipped a coin prior to playing, and make the first set close, just to tease us- then whoever won the coin toss gets to win the second set easily? it's not a conspiracy theory...I'm just sayin'....
Yesterday Venus won her 5th Wimbledon title- and is 5 and 2 lifetime on Centre Court. Her only losses, surprise surprise; at the hands of her sister Serena in the 2002 and
2003 finals.
Venus has won a career 7 Grand Slam Titles.
The Williams sisters have met in 7 Grand Slam Finals
( 7-7-7..BINGO!!)
Serena leads the Grand Slam finals series 5-2.
( 5-2, 5-2..these stats seem rigged I swear. But no, it's not a conspiracy theory.)
Venus's win yesterday makes their overall tournament series record now tied at 8-8.
....not rigged I know....but just weird...I'm just sayin'....
